REBELLION REVOLUTION RESURRECTION
When Lucifer was in heaven, he refused to be God's servant - he believed in his free will. Though he loved God, he rebelled. He believed it was better to rule in hell than to serve in heaven. And then God created Earth, and Man. Curious, Lucifer came up from hell to see God's creation.
When he saw Man, Lucifer knew than God loved Man more than He had loved him. Heartbroken and enraged, he plotted the downfall of Man - using Man's naturally endowed free will. Lucifer poisoned God's Paradise, and permanently corrupted mankind - but by doing so, he gave us one of our greatest gifts - independent thought.
Michael Alan will build Paradise Lost as living, breathing installation inside the NYC landmark ABC No Rio - and place human bodies inside it.
Using every imaginable material, Alan will build upon 5 performers, and they will become part of the physical space. Transformed, they will struggle between free will and servitude - reenacting the creation and destruction of mankind.

The Living Installation is life installed in a space. Enter into a raw space and within 5 hours it will be transformed into a living installation. This is an invitation to enter into a five hour experience. During the installation, you are free to come, go, and experience as you choose. Be creative or be a voyeur. It is a positive art machine, and it is a chance to escape into a live movie. Time is slowed, asking you to be present and to watch the unpredictable development of creation. The installation will be built from every material Alan can access. Watch him build onto the human body, and watch the bodies be transformed into the space.
All different kinds of people come together to experience this break in time. It is the convergence of these people that creates a dynamic alliance. Viewers are not seen as audience members, but as a part of the formation of this free, intellectual community. The living installation redefines the elements of art, space, the role of the artist, community, the audience, the use of space, and the body. Take the freedom to view it as you please.
Disconnect is all around us. It is my hope that on June 10th, artists, poets, sculptors, doctors, presidents, baseball players, children, people, everyone, will come and gather for this 5 hour long happening, this positive art machine.
