"Plugged In" is the first ever solo exhibition for the China-based new media art collective known as island6 to be held in North America.

Under the curation of Tally Beck, the artists of island6 portray Shanghai in her post-World Expo state, shimmering and morphing before your eyes in twelve unique artworks. Hypnotic LED animations circle within the narratives of papercut imagery and sleek stainless steel frames to depict Shanghai’s smallest visual details, booming infrastructure and everlasting exoticism.

"Plugged In" runs through January and February 2011 at Tally Beck Contemporary, located at 42 Rivington Street in Manhattan.
