08/09/10.10.2010 - Sonic Pointillism: Granular Synthesis with SuperCollider.

This will be a hands-on seminar about creating massive sounds and textures out of many tiny sound particles. We will build, from scratch, different kinds of grains and the systems to generate, shape and control clouds of these units in real time. We will also add interactive control to our granulator programs in order to be able to use them live as instruments. We will be using the free and open-source programming environment SuperCollider. The first session will include a lightning-fast introduction to this synthesis environment.
