Genius 2000, Zen, and Heroism
by maxherman, 09.07.02 04:28 am
My current tormentor is accusing me of not possessing enough personal
enlightened egolessness to attempt to affect other people's egos.
I found this link about corruption in Zen hierarchies,
www.nybooks.com/articles/15221, which touches on some of my skepticism about
Zen in art overall.
Does anyone have a take on Zenlightenment as a prerequisite for art? What
about Heroism, which I think can be just as worthwhile and just as flawed as
Zen?
I like James Austin's book of 1998, "Zen and the Brain," which for me
demystifies Zen and makes Heroism a relevant influence on meditation and
practice.
