Al arte siempre le cupo ir de la mano de la tecnica, tanto que en sus
comienzos es imposible deslindar entre ambas palabras pues para ambos
hechos usabamos la misma palabra tecnica. Siempre han ido de la mano,
ademas, de una forma solo patente en la perfeccion final, en la mano
que ejecuta y da el acabado distinguido que oculta todas las tecnicas
empleadas para que la obra sea sonrisa de trapecista en el circo.
Hoy, en cambio, la tecnica es tan visible que no puede negarse porque
la tecnologia necesita estar presente para extenderse, y asi llegamos
a esta muestra del arte que viene hacia nosotros a ritmo de ADSL.
La exposicion <punto.dot> presenta tres obras distintas en
tradiciones diferentes del arte ultimo.
Orbita 0-4, de Raul Real y Patricia Ballester (Valencia). E su linea
de obras video-cineticas, estos autores presentan una obra que
conjuga los progresos de la imagen en movimiento (aportado por el
video) con los de la mecanica automatica (de caracter deliciosamente
casero) para desviarnos por visiones hipnoticas de dificil
asimilacion narrativa, al suspender el punto de vista tras una lente
objetiva completamente deshumanizada.
Analisis Porfiado, de Francis Naranjo (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria).
Su obra desde los primeros momentos interroga el estatus de las
imagenes reproducidas y pronto busca en sus instalaciones el modo de
enfrentar a los observadores a su propia presencia, nos encontramos
ante una de estas escenas de control y perplejidad traducida a video.
Desde el cuadrilatero inicial hasta la sala de proyecciones ultima en
ningun momento se suspende la vigilancia.
biennale.py, de 0100101110101101.ORG (Italia) representa la entrada
de los virus informaticos en la bienal de Venecia (2001) a traves del
net.art, sus autores son conocidos tanto en la esfera artistica como
en la informatica (unen ambos universos desde las posiciones del
hacktivismo) por sus repetidos asaltos a distintos emblemas de la
internet, los juegos con la identidad real confusa, tanto de las
personas como de los hechos, les ha llevado a una presencia obligada
en cualquier acontecimiento artistico contemporaneo importante y
avisado.

Art and technique have always gone hand in hand, to the extent that
in their earliest beginnings it was practically impossible to mark
clear boundaries between both words, as the word technqiue was used
to apply to both concepts. And they remained hand in hand, yet in a
manner that only becomes clear in the ultimate perfection, the hand
that performs and provides the final elegant touch that conceals all
the underlying technique, turning the work into the smile of the
circus trapeze artist. Today however, technique is so visible that
that it is impossible to pretend otherwise, for in order to continue
advancing technology has to be there, on the surface. And so we come
to this expression of art that is racing towards us at the speed of
ADSL.
The exhibition <punto.dot> presents three different works in varying
traditions of recent art.
Orbita 0-4, by Raul Real and Patricia Ballester (Valencia). In
keeping with their line of video-kinetic works, these artists present
a work which combines the progress of the moving image (using video
footage) with those of automatic mechanics (of a delightfully
home-made nature), leading us off along a path of hypnotic visions
whose narrative is hard to take in, suspended as they are behind a
totally dehumanised and absolutely objective lens.
Analisis Porfiado, by Francis Naranjo (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria).
Right from the start, his work calls into question the status of the
images which are reproduced, and rapidly moves on to search for the
means of confronting observers with their own presence. We find
ourselves face to face with one of these scenes of control and
bewilderment transferred onto video. From the initial boxing ring to
the final projection room, this careful surveillance never lets up
for a second.
biennale.py, by 0100101110101101.ORG (Italy) represents the invasion
of the Venice 2001 biennial exhibition by computer viruses thorough
net.art. Its authors are known both in the art and computer worlds
(they link both spheres from the stance of hacking), for their
repeated attacks on various Internet emblems and their blurring of
the real identity of both people and events, which have made them an
essential part of any important pre-planned contemporary artistic
event.
