Show Off Your Design Skills at Inside 3D Printing

We're excited to announce that we've partnered with digital art pioneer and legend Laurence Gartel to host the Creative Force Design Competition at Inside 3D Printing and the 3D Print Design Show in Santa Clara on October 21-22.

Participants have the opportunity to download and print a 3D file created by Gartel, and alter, adjust, and remix the file to create a unique work of art.

To participate, please register with the code GARTEL, and send us an email to receive the special file to print. You can forward a photo of your 3D printed piece to creativeforce@mecklermedia.com. Applicants are free to modify the file without any creative restraints.

Laurence will select the most innovative 3D prints for inclusion in the show.

Artist's Statement:
The world is now open to replicating as well as creating new forms of Art. We are in the budding midst of a second "industrial revolution." You will be able to print anything you need: From a replacement house key to an iPhone cover, shoes, wallet, coffee cup, jewelry, auto part, prosthetics, and anything else you can think of. It is the "moment of discovery" and on behalf of Inside 3D Printing, we are excited to expose what is possible.

Art & Technology:
As printing has never been an exact science, we are giving people the opportunity to "print" a file created by Laurence Gartel and to see the results of difference. We are excited to see the nuances of people's sensibilities, use of color, and operation of technology for the magnitude of comparison. The user is free to print the file without any creative restraints.
