The Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) organised four media arts exhibitions before. Through collaboration with innovative artists, arts organisations or companies, the exhibition aimed to bring together artists and technical experts to explore, experiment and develop creative ideas that could change the world.

Themes explored in the last four editions include: Architecture (Body Movies, 2006), Light (A-Glow-Glow, 2008), Technology (Invention & Intervention, 2011) and City Screen (Fleeting Light, 2014). For the 5th Large-Scale Public Media Arts Exhibition in 2016, the theme will be Urban Media. The HKADC is now inviting individuals who possess extensive experience in curatorial practice or in organising similar media arts exhibitions to submit proposals for the upcoming 5th Large-Scale Public Media Arts Exhibition.
