The gallery is small and I will be rigorous so I invite you to submit your best work. That which you feel conveys most clearly the intent that compels you to be an artist, work that says something about being alive, here, right now. Be an artist, a persuasive one, and I, in turn, will do my best to make an exhibition worthy of your efforts. There are a few walls, of course, but there is also the window for a vinyl piece, there could be a short performance at the opening, there is the park across the street, there could be a zine to hand out, a sound work, a text piece, there could be an ice sculpture that melts in the summer heat…

Clint Roenisch opened his Toronto gallery in 2003. He has previously been the Director of Monte Clark Gallery and the curator of the Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery. Roenisch represents a diverse roster of artists across several generations who work in sculpture, drawing, painting, film, photography and installation. Gallery artists have exhibited at or been collected by the MoMA, the Centre Georges Pompidou, the National Gallery of Canada, the Berlin Biennial, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the Venice Bienniale, the Vancouver Art Gallery, the State Museum of Russia, the Guggenheim Museum, the Stedelijk Museum, the Power Plant, Art Basel and the Sydney Biennale, among many others.
