Robert Cahen: Passage

  • Location:
    GB

17th January - 14th March

Robert Cahen is one of the pioneering forces in experimental video art and this is his first solo exhibition in the UK, spanning 25 years of the artist's career. Having trained as a composer at the Paris Conservatoire in the early 1970s, Cahen began to experiment with the revolutionary new technologies associated with video, film, photography and music.

His work has since been exhibited worldwide, with recent major exhibitions in Hong Kong, China,Uzbekistan, Norway, Congo, Switzerland, and France. Passage is a series of video installations that look at the human experience of the flow of time, journeys and transiency, dreams and memories, reality and perception.

Haunting, poetic and ethereal, Cahen’s work is often very moving, communicating with the viewer on an emotional level, rather than the purely aesthetic.
