Tickling Thicket has been extended. Johansson projects presents a two-person show that considers the ephemeral thrills and underlying decrepitude of the natural world. Katy Stone's constructions and installations meander and entwine, enveloping their surroundings in a spectacular tangle of Duralar and acrylic paint. A foreboding chill seeps gradually from within these tendrilous masses of lines. Yvette Molina's saturated paintings on convex metal rounds are of hazy forest scapes, documenting both their uncanny energies and their fragile particularities. Multiple layers of oil paint and transparent glazes overlap to result in meditations of luminous, far away lands haunted by shadows that lurk just beyond the edges of the pictureplane.
