Nungu Controversy continued...

I am a curator based in India. I would like to shed light on some facts about Nungu that are now making the rounds of art circles here –

- Mukul Deora who has expressed his views on this page as "collaborator" is Beatrice Gibson's boyfriend. As for as genuine collaborators are concerned, he was never involved with Nungu.

- Rhizome's statement of checking facts is not true. None of the original collaborators have been contacted.

- ALL collaborators involved with Nungu ver.1 and ver.2 ARE NOT ASSOCIATED WITH NUNGU ANYMORE. There must be a reason for this.

- For credits and email addresses of original collaborators, I suggest Rhizome contact B. Gibson for a copy of ver.1 & 2. I'm sure everybody who had projects on the site would be willing to testify and resolve this matter.

- Claims are being made that certain political connections were used to allow Nungu non-prof status in india and also to implement certain projects that involved cameras being placed in public spaces. This is technically illegal in India.

I think somebody at Rhizome needs to comment on this.
