Uncommon/Commons is a hybrid media art and research project conceived by Jenny Marektou, interdisciplinary artist based in NYC, with the assistance of Nathanael Bassett, media researcher and producer, the New School, and Abina Manning, Video Data Bank, Chicago. The goal of the project is to invite artists, researchers, writers, scholars, and activists to create ambiguous vocabularies and new forms for representation in contemporary art.

Uncommon/ Commons is materialized as a series of workshops, video and film screening, and discussions which will take place from Wednesday, Feb 12 through Saturday, Feb 15, 2014 at the Media Lounge / ARTspace located in the Joliet Room, 3rd floor at the Hilton Hotel during the CAA Conference in Chicago. It is free and open to the public, and you do not need to register for the conference to attend.
