The symposium will be streamed online: http://www.nimk.nl
At this evening session artist in residence at NIMk, Lilia Perez Romero will discuss the legacy and concept of Frontera v.2 in the context of related works.
Frontera v.2 is an interactive installation consisting of two main components: a videobooth and a playback screen. The videobooth acts like a tool with which spectators can create interactive selfportraits. These portraits are shown on the playback screen and react to the movements of the spectator as if they were dissociated mirror images. Touch and communication are key ingredients in this project for which an open source application was developed. http://www.nimk.nl/en/onderzoek/air.html
Interaction designer and PHD candidate at the Amsterdam School of Cultural Analysis, Noam Knoller will introduce his InterFace Portrait #2, a video installation based on interaction with a simulated character. http://www.knoller.com/
As an associate professor at the Institute for Media and Re/presentation at Utrecht University, Nanna Verhoeff's research includes the investigation of interactive screen technologies for the digital representation of cultural content. http://nannaverhoeff.net/
