Home and Away: Contemporary Video Art

  • Location:
    US

As a well-established and commonly used media in contemporary art practice, video and video installation are presented in this exhibit entitled “Home and Away: Contemporary Video Art” featuring works by local, regional and national artists. Through their works the artists examine notions of time, space and scale and investigate various psychological states. Others explore light and color, the body and the evocation of place.

The exhibition provides a sampling of the array of approaches undertaken by artists using video ranging across a broad spectrum: installation and interactive works, narrative and non-narrative, single and multi-channel formats. The exhibition demonstrates the power of video and digital image as potent forms of expression.
