The Contemporary Artists Center provides 2-wk to 3-month long artist residencies in Troy, NY. Emerging artists of all disciplines and from all over the world live and work in a historic Neo-Gothic chapel, featuring 20-ft. high ceilings, adaptable 24-hour studios, lofted bedrooms, kitchen facility and a growing body of specialized tools. Situated just 2.5 hours north of NYC, CAC is conveniently accessible by bus, train or airplane.

CAC focuses on emerging artists who want to expand the current debates and ideas in contemporary art practices. We encourage creativity, dialogue, experimentation, and a diversity of styles and practices (2D, 3D, 4D). Programming includes weekly critiques and outings, lectures, and possible exhibition opportunities. In late 2013, we will be launching the grand opening of our contemporary exhibition space in the adjacent Neo-Gothic church. All artists receive some level of financial assistance and may also be eligible for work exchange. Submissions may be sent via email or regular mail and require a $15 application fee.
