The Fuse Factory: Ignition 5.0: ART-astrophe Call for Submissions

  • Deadline:
    Sept. 21, 2012, 5 p.m.
  • Location:
Shot Tower Gallery , 546 Jack Gibbs Blvd., Columbus , Ohio, 43215, US

According to popular lore, a reading of the Mayan calendar predicts the earth will experience a host of cataclysmic astronomical events resulting in the world’s destruction in December 2012. Faced with imminent catastrophe, what else is one to do, but make art? And what else is one to do with that art but share it with the world?

The Fuse Factory Electronic and Digital Arts Lab is hosting its fifth annual juried exhibition at the Shot Tower Gallery, located in downtown Columbus Ohio, from November 12, 2012 to December 13, 2012. Artists working in new media (sound/radio, bio art, generative art, glitch, motion graphics, video, electronics, robotics, etc.) are invited to submit works engaging the idea of the end of the world and exploring ideas of destruction, change and rebirth.

The Call for Entries can be downloaded from the Fuse Factory website. Questions can be directed to ignition@thefusefactory.org.
