The coup of Iranian populist leader Dr. Mohammad Mossadegh is a key moment in contemporary Iranian history. From The Mouth Of The Lion Artist Project is curating a collection of short films that mention or reflect on this historical turning point, Mossadegh’s leadership, and iconographic status. “Mossadegh Is My Homeboy” will tour in Fall 2012-Spring 2013 and be screened at multiple venues throughout the US.

From The Mouth Of The Lion invites filmmakers to submit short films (20mins or less) of any genre: documentary, narrative, experimental, animation or music videos. The content can be humorous, abstract or politically hard hitting–a spectrum of approaches is encouraged.

Submissions must be received by June 30,2012. Online screener or DVD formats accepted for review. All artists, whether or not selected for inclusion in “Mossadegh Is My Homeboy,” will be featured on the From The Mouth Of The Lion website as part of our brand new online database of Iranian-American Artists.
