The Exitrip is a low-cost, micro-power, FM transmitter made of recycled electronics and an important part of May Day Radio's plan to reach across the digital divide.
Give a new life to an otherwise obsolete piece of electronics and learn the technical, legal, and aesthetic basics of radio broadcasting. Learn how to be a part of May Day Radio and the rich history of radio in it's context. All materials and tools provided. All ages welcome. No prior experience necessary.

The Exitrip transmitters that we’ll be using to microcast throughout the city on May Day are the brainchild of engineer/artist Ed Bear. Using iPod accessories that became obsolete after Apple introduced a new generation of mp3 players, he reverse-engineers the devices so they can transmit an FM signal from any audio source you choose.
