Artists from all over the world are invited to apply for the international art and culture festival “BEGEHUNGEN #9” (August 16-18, 2012). Deadline for applications is May 20, 2012. Under this year’s topic “in the meanwhile” applicants are encouraged to challenge the discrepancies between the subjective sense of time, the instruments used for actual time measurement, and the objective value of time. Please note that all applications need to be completed using the online application form at www.begehungen.org. There are no limits concerning the form of art. On the contrary we seek to engage a variety of media including paintings, graphics, sculptures, installations, photography, audio visuals, conceptual, performance and street art. We are especially looking for newcomers and unknown artists! The exhibition will be curated by a jury in June 2012.

The exhibition will also be accompanied by a carefully compiled literature, music, theatre, and film program. At the end of the festival, the organisers will award the two strongest artworks with a price. The winner of the People's Choice Award will receive the “BEGEHUNGEN ART PRIZE” endowed with 1000€. The winner of the Jury’s Choice Award will receive the option for an individual exhibition at an art gallery in Chemnitz.
