The Cube Prize 2012 will be awarded for the first time during the Le Cube Festival to the best creation in digital art by a young artist under age 35. The aim of this Prize is to bring to light, showcase and support the work of an up-and-coming artist from the international digital arts scene.
The 2012 Le Cube Prize will be awarded to a digital work of art from the past two years in the following fields: interactivity, generativity, network, internet, mobility.
These works must be innovative installations or devices that explore the specific characteristics of digital techniques in art (with the exception of live shows, video art or photographic art). Five works of art will be chosen and exhibited to the public during the Le Cube Festival 2012. The winner of the prize will receive €10,000.
Selection and Jury:A committee of experts will choose five works from among eligible candidates.
The jury will include prominent individuals from the world of arts and culture as well as digital technology professionals and, among the five nominees, will award the 2012 Le Cube Prize to the work deemed most outstanding for its artistic qualities, its control over its message and its technical challenges.
