Attitudinal Healing Connection (AHC) a non-profit organization in West Oakland is looking for local artists to paint the Hoover Corridor Neighborhood’s first large scale mural project. Using the theme of superheroes, the murals are going to be designed by local middle and high school students and are intended to uplift and positively transform the neighborhood. Over the course of three years we plan to complete six murals under freeway overpasses including San Pablo Ave., Market St., West St., and Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. These murals will serve as a gateway to West and Downtown Oakland and can become a key way in which our community is perceived. This is a call for local artists interested in helping to revitalize the Hoover District in West Oakland.
