The San José Office of Cultural Affairs Public Art Program is seeking an artist/artist team to design, fabricate, and install an artwork as part of the renovation and expansion of the San Jose Convention Center. Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, the new facility will showcase the City’s innovative spirit. The public art commission offers an opportunity for a large-scale iconic artwork working with interactive media, networked telepresence technology, social networking, augmented reality, light, LED, data-mining and visualization, robotics, etc.

The public art project will be developed in a unique partnership with a Silicon Valley technology partner offering the commissioned artist an exceptional potential to utilize innovative technology.

The total project budget, exclusive of potential in-kind donations, is $480,000.

The commission is open to U.S artists and international artists who currently hold proper visas allowing them to work in the U.S.
