Comic Artist SCOTT MCCLOUD, Public Lecture Thursday, July 25 MCAD Auditorium 109 7-8:30 p.m. Reception preceding lecture, 6-7 p.m. 
This lecture is free and open to the public. McCloud is best known for his two books, "Understanding Comics" and "Reinventing Comics," and for printed comics such as "Zot!," and "Destroy!!" McCloud also completed a 12-issue stint writing "Superman Adventures," and has created various comics-style articles in magazines such as Wired, Nickelodeon, Computer Gaming World, Wizard, and Publishers' Weekly. 2002 ANNUAL FACULTY EXHIBITION AUGUST 23 - SEPTEMBER 20 The energetic, innovative spirit of MCAD is demonstrated in this lively exhibition featuring works of more than 50 full- and part-time faculty of the College. On view are painting, sculpture, drawing, mixed-media, photography, video, illustration and computer design. 
SITUATED REALITIES OCTOBER 1 - OCTOBER 25 This international group of pioneering artists has boldly situated representations of some of the most salient issues of our time within the imaginative possibilities of the computed image, reflecting on how the mind - and the universe it imagines - fits together with the technology it has also created. This exhibition is the culmination of a unique seminar at Maryland Institute College of Art. 
MCAD GALLERY AND EXHIBITION INFORMATION  Located on the first floor of MCAD's Main building, the MCAD Gallery is committed to presenting the work of local, national and international artists and interpreting contemporary art and design through a schedule of diverse exhibitions. Gallery hours, unless otherwise noted are: Monday-Friday, 9am-8pm; Saturday, 9am-5pm & Sunday, Noon-5pm. Admission is free. All exhibitions subject to change. For information call 612/874-3748.
