Electrofringe is looking for a creative, energetic and highly organised individual to work with the current Artistic Co-Producer, Cara-Ann Simpson (http://www.caraannsimpson.com), on the 2012 program and onto 2013. Applicants can be based anywhere in Australia and we particularly encourage applications from candidates from regional Australia.
The Electrofringe festival and year-round program showcases digital, electronic and media arts with a particular emphasis on emergent forms and techniques. Focusing on encouraging interaction between emerging and professional practitioners, Electrofringe aims to create an open environment of exchange and peer-to-peer mentoring. Presenting workshops, panel discussions, installations, exhibitions, screenings and performances, Electrofringe brings together artists, musicians, media makers, technicians, scientists, academics, cultural commentators, critics and enthusiasts working with a broad range of media.
In 2012, Electrofringe will celebrate its 15th year with a change of focus and direction. While celebrating its history, Electrofringe will launch its new direction this year, no longer just an annual festival but as an organisation offering support and opportunities for digital artists Australia-wide.
In 2012, Electrofringe will be taking be taking a break from This is Not Art (TINA) in Newcastle to celebrate its 15th year with a change of focus and a new direction.
While celebrating its diverse history and abundant creative resources, Electrofringe will also explore new avenues in collaboration with both its long-term creative community and potential partners. It will transform from an annual festival to an organisation offering support and opportunities for electronic artists Australia-wide.
